I started Flat Track racing in the late 70' s at local short tracks in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. I turned pro in 1980 and expanded my efforts to Ohio, California, New York and wherever a dirt track was to be found. While never championship caliber, the financial and emotional rewards kept it worth doing. Rule changes in AMA motorcycle racing in the 80's made equipment changes necessary that forced motorcycle racers to change brands and engine displacement. As an unsponsored rider, unwilling to invest in all new gear, I "retired" and moved to Florida where I took up flying, skydiving and offshore boat racing. Florida brought a Offshore boat racing National Championship, a hot wife and a new business that specialized in painting offshore race boats and team uniform design and production. That business brought multiple awards in the industry, including a coveted National "Addy", the Oscar of the Advertising Industry. Disillusioned with the gold chain and playboy boat crowd, my wife Cheryl pursued Veterinary Medicine, became a Vet in the early 2000's, and we relocated to the hotbed of flat track central Ohio, where I became the "llama feeder". After 18 years of being one of the best Camelid Veterinary Services in the country, we relocated to Massachusetts where I restore and paint vintage motorcycles and am going back to the dirt tracks.
